Serial Port:-
1. A serial port is an interface on a computer system with which information is transferred in or out one bit at a time.
2. Only two line are needed to connect transmitter and receiver.
3. Data transfer rate is slow.
4. Installation cost is less.
5. Used when data transfer is required within large distance.
Parallel Port:-
1. 8 data bits can be transferred at a time.
2. 9 lines are used to connect to receiver and transmitter.
3. Data transfer rate is high.
4. Used when data transfer is needed within small distance.
5. Installation cost is more.
