In contrast, the audhnath stupa was “a haven of uietness in the busy streets around”. There was no crowd, which helped build the stillness and serenity at the Buddhist shrine
At Pashupatinath, there is an atmosphere of complete confusion. Priests, hawkers, devoteos, tourists, cows, monkeys, Pigeons and dogs roam all through the ground. There are so many worshippers that some people trying to get Priest's attention are elbowed aside by others pushing their way to the front. At the Baudhnath stupa, the Buddhist shrine of Kathmandu, there is a sense of stillness. It's immense white dome is surrounded by a road. Small shops stands on its outer edge. Most of its shops are owned by Tibetan immigrants. There is no crowd inside and it is the place of extreme quitness.
