The ant is hard-working creature, whereas the cricket is lazy.

Explanation:

'The Ant and the Cricket' is a fable written by Aesop.

The fable dictates the moral about hard-working and the fruits of hard-working.

In the poem, the cricket is characterized as a silly young cricket, who loves to sing all through the summer and is careless about saving food for the winter.

Whereas, the ants are wise who stores up food for themselves in summer for winter. The ants never borrow their food to anyone, whereas the cricket dependen upon the ants if they would provide him shelter from winter and food from starvation.

Explanation:

The ant worked hard by collecting during the months of summer and spring (when the weather was warm) so that it would have sufficient food stored with it when the winters would be coming. Hence, the ant planned for the future and did work in a sincere way.

On the other hand, the cricket just sang during the warm, sunny months of gay summer and spring. Since he didn't collect any food when the weather was warm, it had no food to eat during the winter and hence he was forced to starve. Therefore, we can say that the cricket didn't plan anything for the future and just enjoyed the present.
