in the play persome is bishop's sister.she loves the bishop and  is conserned about his welfare she is not as broadminded,religious and kind hearted as the bishop is .she lacks the bishop 's utter faith in humanity .she dislikes selling her own property .she is the secondary character here whose aim is to highlight the goodness and other positive  virtues of bishop.in this way  ,persome is complete contras to bishop with persome gaining the practical wisdom while the bishop is blessed with the purity of heart

bishop was a kind hearted person in this drama but persome was not so kind as her brother.she was very loving and caring about her brother.she knew well about her brother.but she was afraid about the other strange people who ask help to her brother. she was little jealous too.this was well understood when he helps the maid.
