In Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice, there are many controversies over religion and friendship, but the idea of the play that interested me the most was the role of women. The two women that are in this play take on the role of the saviors of the men who seem helpless and hopeless compared to them. Answer:

Explanation:the women in shakespeare's era were not allowed to work ,neither were they educated .It was thought then that the main job of women was only to look after the household and bare children . In the 21st century as we know women are now independent and can have the choice of working in any field . Shakespere mainly tries to highlight this content of feminism as in merchant of venice the characters of portia , jessica , and nerrisa are hero depicting characters which defy's the fact about the women of merchant of venice.
