Media is the most effective communication tool in the emerging world and raises awareness and represents society's real stage. However, the role of media in creating awareness amongst people differ amongst nations.

Media in India

• Media plays a crucial role in forming and expressing public opinion. In India it is considered as the overseer of our democracy. India guarantees freedom of expression and speech, media rather functions freely in our nation.
• Media is a link between the administration and the people, which can forth the opinions of the govt. People can use media to raise their viewpoints and opinions and can conduct debates and pressurize the govt. Media has the freedom to publish and show the content, there are newspapers, private channels, and journals functioning that appreciates  as well as criticizes the govt. from time to time.
• Media has a crucial role to play in a democracy, in contributing to free-thinking citizenry. People in our nation have put pressure on the govt. and have demanded new law. For example, the Right to information act, Domestic violence prevention act, and so on.

• Media is controlled by the govt. and there are limits in its usage and freedom.
• Govt. owns news channel  and newspapers, thereby controlling and regulating the content shown via media
• Foreign publications ae censored  and there are regulations enforced on journalists too
• Two of the Indian environmentalist who have spent several years of their lives fighting to save the environment are given alongside and also write short paragraphs about their contribution and achievement.
