In the village, the routine of the grandmother revolved around the activities of the narrator. She used to wake him up, bathe him and got him ready to school. She would accompany him to his school and they would come back together. The maximum of the time they spend with each other.

In the city, they both witnessed a great change in their life. The schedule and the daily routine of the narrator became very occupied. The grandmother devoted herself to the prayers and used to feed the sparrows. She didn't like the education system of the city schools.

Answer:

In the village, the author and his grandmother had a beautiful friendship which did not require wordy conversations, rather it was characterised by companionable silences. His parents would leave him with her when they went to live in the city and they were constantly together.

In the city, she was mostly left to her own devices and spent her time absorbed in prayers. She rarely left her spinning-wheel to talk to anyone, from sunrise to sunset she would sit by her spinning wheel and recite prayers. Only in the afternoon she relaxed for a while by feeding the birds. It used to be the happiest half-hour of her day as the multitude of birds descended on her for the tiny bits of bread she fed them and created a bedlam of chirrupings.
