There will be dichotomous, key based on habit, leaves, flowers and fruit characters on morphological grounds only they can be identified. There is no need for genome level,Its an expensive approach; If one is doing 40–50 species which are difficy=ukt to identify, a phylogenetic approach is employed approach. Yes you can, thought the plants belong to same species they still have minute variation at their genome level which can change their quantity and quality of growth, yeild production etc.
