Capillaries carry blood away from the body and exchange nutrients, waste, and oxygen with tissues at the cellular level. Veins are blood vessels that bring blood back to the heart and drain blood from organs and limbs

normaly artery carries  oxygenated blood and veins carry deoxygenated  blood  but pulmonary vein carries oxygenated blood from lungs to heart and  pulmonary artery carries deoxygenated blood from heart to lungs .

but capillaries are the smallest of the body's blood vessels. They are only one cell thick, and they are the sites of the transfer of oxygen and other nutrients from the bloodstream to other tissues in the body; they also collect carbon dioxide and waste materials and ultimately join to veins
