Compare between single value attribute and multivalued attribute

Single valued attribute have only single value.  

Person could have only one ‘date of birth’, ‘name'.  

Single valued attributes could have single value.  

Though both are single valued attributes.

Multivalued attributes could have multiple values.  

A person can have multiple phone numbers,multiple degrees etc.

Multivalued attributes are shown by double line connecting to entity in ER diagram.
