Protons and neutrons are in the center (nucleus) of the atom.
Proton—positive;
Electron—negative;
Neutron—no charge.
The charge on the proton and electron are exactly the same size but opposite. The same number of protons and electrons exactly cancel one another in a neutral atom.

The fundamental particles of matters are electron,proton and neutron Electron have negative charge -1 , proton have positive charge+1 and neutron is neutral. The mass of electron is 0, mass of proton is 1 and the mass of neutron is 1.
