Half wave rectifier:

1. it operates only at alternate half cycles

2. its an electronic circuit which converts only half of AC cycle into pulsating DC

3. it is unidirectional, it allows conduction in one direction only. it can convert only positive half or negative half into Dc

Full wave rectifier:

1. it operates at all cycles

2. its an electronic circuit which converts full cycle of AC into pulsating DC

3. it is bi-directional. it conducts for positive half as well as negative half of the cycle
