This question is from CH:-6 life processes.

  • when the breakdown of glucose takes place in presence of oxygen, then CO2, Water and 32 ATP energy is formed.
  • when breakdown of glucose takes place in absence of oxygen  then 2 ATP energy with lactic acid is formed.
  • when oxygen is available then the pyruvate is used in mitochondria of cell.  when oxygen is not available then the pyruvate is used in muscle cells. That's why cramps in muscles occurs.
