When I was younger, my days were dictated by my sentiments, which were hasty, reckless, impulsive, chaotic, and glorious. I felt that this was the best option for me to defend myself. I was emotional and worn out after that. But now I realised that sentiments needed to be acknowledged, respected, and given room. They frequently provided insightful commentary on my internal processes.
- No such thing as an invalid sentiment exists. No matter how insane, foolish, silly, or irrational you may believe they are, all emotions and thoughts are legitimate.
- We can all relate to how awful it is to have someone dismiss our emotions by telling us they aren't valid, necessary, or significant. That gives the impression that our emotions are enormous monsters that must be dreaded. They start to annoy and us.
- Your emotions are justified. You have the right to feel. No such thing as an invalid sentiment exists. It is real if you can feel it. Period. You shouldn't feel ashamed or embarrassed about your feelings because they are perfectly normal.
