Sodium is More Reactive then Rest

Explanation:

The Slight but rigorous comparisons between the reactions of Sodium, Calcium, and Magnesium have been shown all together in the table, as an attachment.

  • Except for Magnesium, rest two i.e. Sodium and Calcium reacts faster with Hot Water.

Reactivity of sodium calcium and magnesium with cold and hot water, are as follows -

Sodium

  • Hot water : Sodium reacts with hot water in an immense amount of reaction rate and causes explosion.
  • Cold water : Sodium reacts with cold water but at less amount of reaction rate than the hot water.

Calcium

  • Hot water : Rate of the reaction with hot water is greater than the reaction rate with cold water. Calcium hydroxide is produced in this case.
  • Cold water : Rate of the less than the reaction rate with hot water.

Magnesium

  • Hot water : Magnesium react with hot water at the higher reaction rate to produce magnesium hydroxide.
  • Cold water : Reaction between cold water and magnesium is very mild or almost negligible.
