Answer:

Explanation:

Industrialisation has led to environmental degradation in terms of industrial pollution. Dust, smoke, fumes and toxic gas emissions occur as a result of highly-polluting industries such as thermal power plants, coal mines, cement, sponge iron, steel & ferroalloys, petroleum and chemicals.

Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies, usually as a result of human activities. Water bodies include for example lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers and groundwater. Water pollution results when contaminants are introduced into the natural environment.

Answer:

Industrialisation

The development and concentration of industries in a region is a factor contributing towards urbanisation. Increase in industries leads to increase in the hopes of people who are attracted towards these industries from surrounding areas. This increases the speed of urbanisation. In 19th century, Mumbai grew rapidly because textile mills started on a large scale in mumbai. Many villages, which were originally fishing villages (koliwadas), became part of Mumbai metropolitan area because of industrialisation and urbanisation.

Water pollution

Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies (like oceans, seas, lakes, rivers, aquifers, and groundwater) usually caused due to human activities. Drinking water, called Potable Water, is considered safe enough for human and animal consumption.
