Compare Phatik's life in t he village with the life in the city.
Answers
Rabindranath Tagore was a true romantic by heart. He loved Nature and the rustic life. He hated city life. He vents his preferences of village life to city life through the heart touching story Home coming.
EXPLANATION:
Phatik was a young adolescent boy, born and brought up in the village. Like a wild and free bird he led a carefree life in the village. Along with the village boys he was always up to innocent mischief. The river, the village landscape filled his tender heart and he lived merrily except for the arguments and quarrels he had with his widowed mother and younger brother Makhan.
Life in Kolkata was totally different. There in the big city his free spirit was entirely lost. Like a caged animal he longed for the wild. His cousins insulted him and looked down upon him for being a village simpleton. His aunt despised him. Phatik was totally lonely and sad in the city. His very existence became a tragedy for him in the city.
