The character named Phatik is a wonderful character in a story called "The Home Coming" written by Rabindranath Tagore. Pathik's life experiences in the village and in the city(Kolkata) were  entirely different from one another.

In the village, he used to be very naughty and stay busy in notorious acts with other friends. Sometimes, he used to be beaten by his mother due to the continuous mischief he used to do, sometimes troubling his young brother even. However the life was a simple and happy one.

In Kolkata(city), he used to miss his old home too much and used to be very careless and inattentive in studies and everything else. He had once tried to go back home alone, and suffered from a high fever, and after a lot of suffering, his mother rushed to him. He realized that it was time to go back to his village now, as the holidays had come.
