metals: they are melleable, ductile, lustrous, sonorus, good conductors of heat and electricity, high melting and boiling points and they are generally soft.
eg : gold ( Au ), aluminium ( Al )
non metals: they are not melleable, non ductile, non sonorus, poor conductors of heat and electricity, low melting and boiling points and they are generally hard and britile.
eg: carbon(C), sulfur(S) etc...
