The aim of this paper is to examine geographical factors in historical processes in Kazakhstan (Qazaqstan) from the mid-19th to the early 20th century,

focusing attention on the activities of Kazakh intellectuals. More concretely, it

or educational) backgrounds of intellectuals and their behavioral and ideological characteristics. In so doing it will show the interactions between the urban
