Self Energizing Brakes :  Such brakes take small amount of energy from vehicle momentum which is used in further application of brake.

Booster system is not used , however they are power assisted brakes. Not much effort is required at the pedal.

Self Locking : It consists of pair of operatively interconnected brake shoes. One brake shoe is mounted on other side of brake disc. For the application of brakes external assistance of actuation force is not required.

A self-energizing brake comes equipped with means of increasing the power given to it by applying pressure on the brake pedal.

A self-locking brake jams the brake pad when there is too much of dust or excess pressure in the fluid line. This will in turn cause the pad to press the disc and stop its rotation resulting in a locking mechanism.
