Shylock is a villain in the story whereas Antonio is a helpful man.Shylock hates Christians and lends them money on great interests whereas Antonio is a kindhearted man who lends money but not on interest. Antonio has a great respect in the society.
Shylock is a man who always want to take revenge from Antonio because Antonio doesn't like him because he lends money on interest and Antonio had many times called him a dog at the public place-Rialto and even spit on him. So,in Act1 Scene 3 we come to know that how wicked the Shylock is when he tells Antonio to sign the bond and pretended to say that he just want to do friendship with Antonio but in reality,he wants to take the revenge.
Hope my answer is helpful,
