A river is a stream of water that flows through a certain passage. It can either be mountain or plain or any other landscape. While flowing through such areas these river streams help in deposition of sediments from one place to another,provide water to the animals or humans living there.
The difference in action of river in mountains and plains is that the speed of flow of water in the mountains is quite high because of the steep surfaces of mountains while it is quite low due to the horizontal surfaces in plains
