Murti river projects are the projects built on the river for multiple purposes such as navigation, electricity,fish, storing water for dry seasons, planting of trees can also be done on either side of the reservoir making it good for tourism.

Some disadvantages of multi purpose river projects are

Change in land use pattern and then excess use and wastage of water, causing water disputes, deforestation, displacing people from their locality where they spend their whole life in the end have to start their life from starting.
