GIVEN:

  • Length of rectangle = 10.5/7 m
  • Breadth of rectangle = 5.1/5 m
  • Side of square = 8.2/7 m

TO FIND:

  • Compare the area of rectangle and square.

SOLUTION:

Firstly, we have to find the area of rectangle

We know that the formula for finding the area of rectangle is:-

\large{\boxed{\bf{\star \: AREA = Length \times Breadth \: \star}}}

According to question:-

\rm{\hookrightarrow Area = \dfrac{10.5}{7} \times \dfrac{5.1}{5} }

\rm{\hookrightarrow Area = 1.5 \times 1.02 }

\bf{\hookrightarrow Area = 1.53 \: m^2 }

  • Area of rectangle = 1.53

We know that the formula for finding the area of square is:-

\large{\boxed{\bf{\star \: AREA = (Side)^2 \: \star}}}

According to question:-

\rm{\hookrightarrow Area = \bigg( \dfrac{8.2}{7} \bigg)^2  }

\rm{\hookrightarrow AREA = \cancel\dfrac{67.24}{49}}

\bf{\hookrightarrow AREA = 1.37 \: m^2}

Comparison between both areas:-

Area of rectangle = Area of square 】

\large{\boxed{\bf{\star \: 1.53 \: m^2 = 1.37 \: m^2 \: \star}}}
