Given :-

Side of the square = 15cm = a

Length of the rectangle = 11cm = L

Breadth of the rectangle = 8cm = B

To find :

  • Comparing the area of square and rectangle

  • Followed by finding the area of square and rectangle.

Solution :

Formula used :

 \mathsf{Area  \:  \:  of   \:  \:  \: sq.  =  {a}^{2}}  \\  \\

 \mathsf{Area \:  \:  of  \:  \: rectangle \:  = L \times  B}

Finding area of the sq. ;

 \mathsf{Area  \:  \:  of   \:  \:  \: sq. =  {(15cm)}^{2}}  \\  \\    \boxed{\mathsf{= 225  {cm}^{2}}}

Now finding area of the Rectangle;

 \mathsf{Area  \:  \:  of   \:  \:  \: rectangle = 11cm \times 8cm} \\  \\    \boxed{\mathsf{= 88 {cm}^{2}}}

_______________________________

Area of the sq : 225cm²

Area of the rectangle : 88cm²

On comparing both the areas we came to the conclusion that Area of square is greater than Area of the rectangle
