o2 has high bond length as c2 this is because o is greater atomic number than c..

hope it's help you

Hey Appu,

◆ Bonds in O2 & C2 -

  • O2 is a diatomic molecule with double bond between two oxygen atoms.
  • C2 doesn't practically exist, but can be considered as four bonds between two carbon atoms.

# Comparing bond lengths -

  • Increase in no of bonds decreases the bond length, thus C2 bond will be shorter that O2.

# Comparing bond energies -

  • Bond energy increases with increase in no of atoms, thus C2 bond energy will be greater than O2 bond energy.

Hope this helped.
