• the climate is extremely harsh and dry with changing temperature.

• in the absence of cloud cover the land tends to get heated up fast and at night it rapidly loses that heat.

• It results the days are scorching and nights aee chilly.

• This region receives scanty rainfall because the rain bearing winds from the Atlantic ocean lose his much of the moisture till the time they reach Sahara.

• The precipitation in this region is unreliable and irregular.



★ Climate of Ladakh : ★

• Ladakh is situated at high altitude , it is extremely cold and dry.

• The Day temperature during the summer is negative 30 degree Celsius. ( - 30 ° C )

• During the winters the temperature hovers around -40°C.

• The region receives annual rainfall less than 10 cm because it lies in the rain Shadow area of Zanskar range.

• Most of the precipitation in this region is in the form of snow.
