Answer

Atoms consist of the core nucleus and the orbiting electrons. The nucleus contains protons and neutrons. Depending on the type of elements there are different numbers of protons in the nucleus. Protons are positively charged while electrons are negatively charged. Electrons and protons attracted by electromagnetic force. Since electron has certain energy level it never falls into the nucleus but in the nucleus protons are positively charged so they are repulsive to each other so in order to bind them, a neutrally charged Neutron is needed which binds protons with strong nuclear force.
