(i) In China, the elections do not offer people any choice.

(ii) They have to choose the ruling party and the candidates approved by it.

Mexico:

(i) In Mexico, the people seemed to have a choice but practically they did not have any choice.

(ii) There was no way that the ruling party could be defeated, even if the people were against it.

The Democratic system in China and Pakistan can be compared by the political system they follow.

  • The various differences between both are -

1. Pakistan follows a federal parliamentary republic, while China is a communist party-led state.

2.  In China, the elections do not offer citizens any choice, whereas In Pakistan, the Prime minister is elected by National Assembly.

3.  Pakistan has a common law system with Islamic law influence, whereas China has civil law influenced by continental European and Soviet civil law systems

4. In Pakistan, there is citizenship by birth, whereas in China there is no citizenship by birth. Citizenship is by descent only
