The Chinese support the Communist Party and feel that the Western style democracy is incompatible with traditionalist Chinese culture. According to them, government is legitimate not when people influence it but when it represents their highest interests.

After the death of Mao Zedong in 1976, some democratic reforms have taken place in China. The Chinese Communist Party holds a monopoly on political power and decisions are made by a few elite leaders chosen from the Communist Party.

In Mexico political activity takes place within a framework of a federal presidential representative democratic republic. Its government is based on a congressional system, where the President of Mexico is both the head of state and head of government, and the head of a multi party system.

There are three political parties: National Action Party, the Party of the Democratic Revolution and Institutional Revolutionary Party.
