Given that Diameter of the Sun is 1.4 x 10meters and Earth is 1.2768 x 10meters.

Ratio of diameters of the sun to that of earth is = 1.4 x 109 : 1.2768 x 10

= 1.4 x 102 : 1.2768

= 140 : 1.2768.

= 70 : 0.6384

= 35 : 0.3192    (multiply 10000 each term)

= 350000 : 3192

= 175000 : 1596

= 87500 : 798

= 43750 : 399.

Hope This Helps :)

This is a simple question based on the basic concepts of multiplication, division and some of the rules of exponents.

So, what I did here was we just need to divide the sun's diameter by the earth's diameter. After doing so we will get that the diameter of the sun is nearly hundred times the diameter of the earth.

You should keep in mind that the answer we get in these type of questions are approximate. Even in the question, the word 'nearly' is given.
