After the first world war both the powers were involved in cold wars evident when an ambasador from Germany to Russia was shot in an attempt to bring back a revolution  upon incitement .

This was followd by the imediate diportation of the whole Russian envoy to Germany.

Both the countries looked forwad to bringing down the governments that they had prior to the the beginning from a fresh start after the world war i .

At this time trade ties between the two was not favourable untIl Adolf Hitler and  Molotov signed new busines deals and friendship.
