4.2*10⁵ will be written in expanded form as 4,20,000. Similarly, 2.5*10⁷ will be written in expanded form as 25,000,000.

As is evident, 4.2*10⁵ is four lakhs and twenty thousands while 2.5*10⁷ is two crores and fifty lakhs. So, 2.5*10⁷ > 4.2*10⁵.

b. 8.5*10⁷, 30*10⁵

8.5*10⁷ will be written in expanded form as 85,000,000. Similarly, 30*10⁵ will be written in expanded form as 3,000,000.
