Ionic compounds are those compounds which are formed by exchange of ions whereas covalent compounds are formed by sharing of electrons

It is clear from this that covalent compounds do not contain ions so they will not conduct electricity whereas ionic compounds contain ions so it is obvious that they will conduct electricity...

Melting and boiling points- Though ionic compounds are made up of ions so the force between the ions is so strong that it became very difficult to break these bonds

From this it is clear that they have strong melting and boiling point....

whereas in covalent compounds the force between their electrons is very weak so they have low melting and boiling point....
