Explanation:
*Alveoli
Nephron
*They are small balloon-like sacs found in the lungs
They are small tubular structures found in the kidneys
*Thick-walled, comprising of a richly supplied network of capillaries
Made of glomerulus, renal tube and Bowman’s capsule. They possess a cluster of thin-walled capillaries
*Site of exchange pf gases
Site for filtration
*Carries out the exchange of carbon dioxide and oxygen occurring between blood capillaries surrounding alveoli and the gases in alveoli.
Blood entering in tnto the renal artery into the kidney branches into capillaries in the glomerulus. At the Bowman’s capsule, the solutes and water are shifted to the nephron which them moves to the proximal tube, down to the Henle’s loop

ANSWER,
comparing the functions of alveoli and nephrons,
- alveoli (which is present in the lungs) and nephrons (which is present in the kidney).
- both play a major and an important role in our body(human body).
- alveoli plays an important role in respiratory system.whereas, nephron plays an important role in digestive system.
- however, a count of alveoli in the lungs (respiratory system) is nearly about 300 million alveoli (hidden inside the lungs small tiny dot like structures.).whereas,in nephrons there are nearly one million of nephrons present inside the kidney (igsetive system)
- alveoli exchanges the air (oxygen and carbon-dioxide), the process is taken inside the lungs (thin walls are present ).whereas, nephrons absorbs the useful materials by the help of:- bowman's capsule, proximal convoluted tubules,a loop of nephron ,distal, convulated tubule and collecting duct.(materials like:- amino acids , water, sugar molecules, etc,.) and throws out unwanted an harmful waste throw the urine.
- during inhalation and exhalation, the respiratory system needs a lot of space to be occupied( as during inhalation we take in oxygen and for these more area is needed, the lungs swell out and takes a lot of space),whereas, in nephrons , the functioning is done in small amount of space(as there is no exhalation and inhalation and no exceed term).
- alveoli surrounded all over by blood capllaries where as in nephrons only two , which are present as peritubular capillaries an other one, glomerious.
