- These produce good quality of coal.
- These mines are main producer of coal in India.
- Gondwana coal occurs in Damodar valley,the Godavari, Mahanadi ,Son and Wardha valley.
TERRITORY COALFIELDS:
- These are the minor producer of coal in India.
- These are only 55 million years old.
- These produce a poor quality of coal.
- These coal occurs in northeastern state of Meghalaya, Assam , Arrunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.
