Himalayan rivers:-

1. Himalayan rivers originates from the glacier river in Himalaya.
2. They are perennial in nature.
3. Draining basin is large.
4. They are useful for irrigation.
5. E.g. Ganga,Indus,brahmputra .

Peninsular rivers:-

1. These are originated from plateu.
2. Are seasonal in nature.
3. Drainage basin is smaller.
4. These are not useful for irrigation.
5. E.g. Mahanadi, tapi .
