Answers
Answer:
Explanation:
speak with no words spoken
My voice has always been broken
It is a record player that has skipped
Since the day it was made and can never be fixed
I speak through the words you read
Your mind speaks my voice with perfect clarity
I let you inside my thoughts through your thoughts
You see me without the need for me to breathe
I speak through eyes wide open
My mind has never been broken
It never slows or skips a beat
Since the days before I could speak
Comparison between the poems My disjointed Voice and Stammer
The two poems My disjointed Voice and Stammer have a similar theme but are a complete contrast to each other.
The central theme of both the poems is the handicap of 'stammering', but the approaches of both the poets is totally different.
My disjointed Voice is a short poem written by the American poet Kelly Severseike. It is in the first person narrative where the poet speaks of the problems she has faced since childhood due to stammering.
Through the poem the poet wants to express her feelings and let people know that her thoughts are very much like everyone else’s even though her speaking voice is not.
The poem speaks of the journey of her stuttering and strongly highlights the misconception people have about stutterers treating them as nobody. She urges people to give stutterers a thought as they too think like the other people.
The tone of the poem is that of complaint and helplessness. It is more of a personalised style of writing and a plea to people to treat stutterers equally.
The poem Stammer by the Indian poet K.Satchidanandan is quite the opposite. It treats stammering in a positive manner. It considers stammering an asset, a collective language. It ironically asserts that God Himself was a stammerer while creating Man.
The tone is light and jovial with an ironic sarcasm. There is no complaint or plea. It is optimistic . It is not personal and is a reflective poem.
