compare the power used in the 2ohm resistor in each of the following circuits .(1) 6volts battery in series with 1ohm and 2ohm resistors and. (2) 0.4 battery in parallel with 12ohm and 2ohm resistors ​

(1) in series combination

R1+R2=R

1ohm+2ohm=3ohm

current in this circuit= V/R

=6/2=3A

power will be (P)=V×I

=6×3=18w

2) in parallel combination

voltage are samw in each resitance

so current(i) in 2ohm resistance should be =V/R

i=0.2A

power of this resistance shoud be(P)

P=V×I

p=0.4×0.2

p=0.08w

compare the in series and parallel

series /parallel =18/0.08

=225/1
