Aquatic ecosystem covers about 70% of the earth surface of land while terrestrial ecosystem covers about the remaining 30% of the earths surface, however the productivity of terrestrial ecosystem is much higher than that of the aquatic ecosystem despite it being twice smaller than the aquatic, this is due high value resources achieved from the earths surface.
