compare the qualities between akbar and ashoka, the nature of their rule and their policies regarding good administration
Answers
Ashoka and Akbar both were known in their early part of their lives for cruel warfare.
Ashoka gave up all these to embrace Buddhism and rule through justice rather than force. He supported and extolled the virtues of compassion and tolerance in people with different belief systems. He tried to improve the life of his citizens through education, health facilities, recreational parks etc. promoted laws forbidding cruelty to animals and established animal sanctuaries and nature reserves.
Akbar did not rule his conquered places by military force. He also never forced conversion of the conquered to his faith. He was clever and was known to reward talent, intellect and general merit regardless of people’s religion or race and established revenue paying colonies.
