i) X has 12 protons and 12 electron

ii) Y has 20 protons and 20 electrons.

As the electronic configuration of element X is (2,8,2)
Ans Y is (2,8,8,2)
We can see that
both the elements have only 2 valance electrons but the element Y have one more shell competitively to element X so the atomic radii of Y is greater than the atomic Radii of element X
