The molecules of solid are tightly packed and have very low intermolecular spaces so the rate of diffusion in solids is very slow.

Whereas in liquids the molecules are loosely packed and have more intermolecular spaces as compared to that of solids.
So the rate of diffusion in liquids is faster than that of solids.
