Explanation:

Question:-

Compare the religious policies of Akbar and Aurangzeb.

Answer:-

Firstly,we have to list their policies in order to differentiate them. Then:-

Religious policies by Akbar:-

Akbar followed a policy of giving equal freedom and justice to also the followers of different religions.

He also made several policies to unite all the religions under his region into one nation.

He built a number of religious places of other religions in his empire.

He gave land grants as merits to poor people despite of their caste and religion.

He himself married Rajput (Hindu) women to show his people (in his empire) to not differentiate anyone on the basis of religion.

He allowed all the religions to celebrate their festivals on a large scale ( like holi, diwali, etc) despite being a Muslim himself.

He introduced laws and regulations to give respect to other religion's epics, sacred books, beliefs, etc.

Religious policies of Aurangzeb:-

He intended to make the whole india into Country of Islam (like Bangladesh,Pakistan, etc).

He removed all the other religions except Muslim from all their government positions.

He also insulted other religions beliefs, texts, etc and demolished all their idols in their religious places.

He made laws to discriminate other religious except Muslim on basis of land, money, etc.

His discrimination lead to the lost of cooperation of Rajput that is gained during Akbar's religion.

Difference of their policies:-

From above points,we can easily observe the difference that:-

Akbar wanted to unite the whole India as one nation but not by discriminating/forcing people to leave their religion and accept Islam, but by respecting their Beliefs and religions. However,Aurangzeb wanted to discriminate and to force people to leave the religion,in order to make India as a whole country of Islam, but his thoughts didn't work out as he thought and resulted in the declining of the world's biggest empire,The Mughal Empire.
