Bohr's model of the atom had the electrons circling the nucleus comparable to planet orbiting the Sun. Rutherford's model of the atom had a nucleus, but the electrons weren't in specific orbits around the nucleus. Rutherford's model of the atom was an upgrade from the plum pudding model devised by J.J. Thomson. Instead of positive charge just surrounding the negatively charged electrons in a ''pudding'' in Thomson's model, Rutherford had the positive charge concentrated in the center, which is called the nucleus.
