Chloroplasts are very similar to mitochondria,

but are found only in the cells of plants and some algae.

Like mitochondria, chloroplasts produce food for their cells.

Chloroplasts help turn sunlight into food that can be used by the cell, a process known as photosynthesis.

Hope this helps you ☺️☺️☺️

Explanation:

Chloroplast are similar to mitochondria..

Similarities :-

  • Both are double membraned.
  • Both have their own DNA as genetic material.
  • Both have their own ribosomes.
  • Bothcan make their own proteins and enzymes.
  • Both self replicable ( reproducible )

Differences :-

Mitochondria..........

  • It occurs in cells of aerobic organism.
  • It is colourless.
  • It has rod like structure.
  • Its energy membrane has folds known as cristae .
  • It forms energy ( ATP ) .
  • It consumes Oxygen and releases carbon dioxide.

Chloroplast ...........

  • It occurs in cells of green photosynthetic plants .
  • It is green in colour.
  • It has disc like structure.
  • Its inner membrane has thylakoid and lamellao.
  • It traps solar energy.
  • It consumes CO2 and releases O2 .
