prokaryotes, the circularchromosome is contained in the cytoplasm in an area called the nucleoid. In contrast, ineukaryotes, all of the cell'schromosomes are stored inside astructure called the nucleus. Eacheukaryotic chromosome is composed of DNA coiled and condensed around nuclear proteins called histones.
