Answer: The biggest difference between a equinox and solstice is that a solstice is the point during the earths orbit around the sun at which the sun is at its greatest distance from the equator, while during an equinox, it's at the closest distance from the equator.

Explanation: It mainly happens in the month of June and 21 st June has the longest day and shortest night. Whereas Autumn equinox happens in September and 23 rd September is known for end of summer in the Northern hemisphere and from that date there is a beginning of autumn season.
