T= 2π √(L÷g)

where L is the length of the pendulam.

g is the acceleration due to gravity.

so time period is proportional to the square root of the length.

if the two pendulam's time period is T(1) and T(2) and length L(1) and L(2) respectively then,

T(1) : T(2) = √L(1) : √L(2)

=√1 : √9

= 1 : 3
